Learn to Save a Life in 90 Minutes
As part of Laundry Lane’s partnership with the Australian Heart Foundation, they are inviting local residents and businesses to a free CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training session at Freshwater Surf Club on the 18th of October from 7:30-9:00am.
This session will be led by Heart of the Nation, professional CPR training services and a key partner of the Australian Heart Foundation who aim to transform bystanders into responders. Heart of the Nation was started by former Wiggles member Greg Page who tragically experienced cardiac arrest whilst performing on stage, a moment of crisis that turned trigger for change.
This hands-on session will teach participants how to recognise cardiac arrest, perform CPR, and locate and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in times of emergency. Attendees will leave equipped with the skills and confidence to act swiftly in critical moments and potentially save lives.
What is covered during the session:
- What is Cardiac Arrest
- Basic Life Support (DRSABCD)
- Chain of Survival
- Calling for Ambulance (000)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Use and Maintenance of an AED
- AED Implementation and Planning
- The Good Samaritan Act
- Post Event De-briefing
Every year in Australia, more than 26,000 people have a cardiac arrest out of hospital, and only about 10% of these people survive. This session will provide training that could one day save the life of a friend, family member or a member of your community. Transform from a bystander into a responder.
We would love to see you there - register above if you would like to attend.
